Love this, Jack, the photos, the story — all of it!
I took the liberty of changing one of your tags to “Photo Contest” — hope you don’t mind. I think you may have written this before my post yesterday morning about the contest but your photos are certainly contenders.
How did you get the water video to post? I have not been able to post any videos I take with my phone. Can’t figure out what I am doing wrong.
Liquor stores closed?? What kind of state do you live in? In spite of being deep in the Bible Belt, Florida considers liquor stores “essential businesses”! For that, I am grateful 😁
I tend to become overwhelmed with the big picture of despair. But, like you and Deb, we are doing fine, certainly way better than most. I am working, bills are paid, and, so far, we’ve remained healthy. My empathy is so strong I sink with sadness for the problems I am not experiencing personally. Ben reminds me to concentrate on our world, this little space we call home. He says that me being depressed for others does not help them in any way. Of course, he’s right, but still, remaining upbeat when so many around me are suffering is very difficult. I find my balance by doing what I can to help. I paid rent and utilities for my nail tech who has 3 kids and can’t work due to the shutdown. I support local businesses and donate to Feed America and other charities. I buy items that people are making at home while they can’t work their regular jobs and haven’t received unemployment benefits from our stingy, dysfunctional state — see, this is why we need liquor stores to remain open!
We need to appreciate what we have and share what we can.
That’s my pandemic motto.
