You and the Captain are the only men I know who openly admit to loving Karen Carpenter's voice, which was fabulous. But, the songs - well, I did't care for many of them - too much saccharine.

Olivia Newton-John's was too wispy for me.

Celine is a treasure, although I agree that her earlier edgier music was better. Having a Vegas show seemed vanillaize (new word) her music.

The Captain hasn't been writing much - not sure why - but he could reply to this prompt with a piece about chick-flicks - cause he loves romantic movies aimed at women.
