Mikayla, as I was reading your first paragraph, I was sure you were going to say that your parents didn’t get another dog. So happy my assumption was wrong!

A new dog or cat or spouse or even a child never replace the one that’s gone. They are an addition, not a replacement. I see love as a big pool in heaven or some spiritual world. We can withdraw from the pool whenever we want to. When a loved one, or ones in the case of your parents’ dogs, dies he/she returns to that pool. The love he/she had is added back to the pool, so when we pull from our pool again, we are actually receiving love from all we have lost. We may lose a loved one but their love always comes back to us.

Anyway, that’s my take on life!!

Thanks so much for reading and sharing your parents’ story 🌹
