Most of us were when we started posting on Medium! A little advice? Read and comment a lot. Follow your favorite writers. Post your work at least a few times a week. You’ll find your tribe here — those who like your writing and those you like. Soon they will look for your posts. Become a writer for some publications to get more exposure. Each has its own rules for submitting and joining as a contributor.

Write, post, write, post.

Don’t get discouraged. It takes a while to find your village. Unless, of course, you write something that goes viral but, even then, your core readers are the constant that keeps you writing and reading and commenting.

Do you do photography? I am an editor for a photography publication call Snapshots. Photos are the focus but narratives, including poetry, are allowed up to 400 words. Take a look. If you like photography and want to contribute, I’ll add you as a writer.

You work is very good. I look forward to reading more.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
