Most times in my life when I dropped weight and became acceptably thin, I was unhealthy — physically and mentally — teetering on an eating disorder, dehydrated, anemic, depressed, and unhappy. I was praised and congratulated as I tortured myself. Good health and healthy weight are not inclusive.

My most successful weight-loss came when I first found happiness and balance. And, even that decrease on the scale was not enough for society.

Be yourself. Strive for meaning and joy in your life. You are beautiful.
