My husband, Captain Argentina, spent most of his American years — he is originally from, duh, Argentina! — in New Jersey. He loves Manhattan and spent many hours exploring it.

When we were planning our first trip together to New Jersey and New York and my first trip to Manhattan, he asked me the places I wanted to see in the city. I said I wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. He said that you can’t walk the Brooklyn Bridge; people drive on it! I replied that of course, you can — vehicles are on one level, pedestrians on the other. He said I was crazy. Until we were in Manhattan and walked the Brooklyn Bridge!!

And, don’t you dare try to deny this, Captain Argentina!
