My youth was similar but without the physical fighting! I stood up for integration in a segregated school system, I stood up to KKK kids in my school (and got punched in the stomach by a KKK wizard’s son twice my size), I was the first girl in my school to wear pants to class, I supported those who were shy and bullied, and I protested the Vietnam War. Now, I fight for LGBTQ, racial and immigrant equality, feminism and reproductive choice, and against all things Trump.

Sadly, I feel like little has changed in 50 years or what changed for the better is regressing. Sometimes, I am so darn tired.
