Nachi, I feel you read my mind before submitting a piece! What I publish from you often correlates with my recent thoughts.

Yesterday, while sitting on my back porch, I was thinking about the differences in my life in our current home, where we’ve lived for almost three years, compared to our previous neighborhood, where we lived for 11 years, and compared to where I lived in a very rural area for 21 years. I contemplated how a day like yesterday would have unfolded in those other places and realized how starkly different those “old lives” are to the one I live now.

Your poem is so similar to my yesterday’s thoughts. Reading your words, I could easily imagine the differences in your two locations and how they affect your life and habits.

Also, the painting is fabulous — a great choice to go with the poem.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
