Neither he nor I support violence of any sort. We also do not support racism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, white supremacy, Islamophobia, or anything or anyone who seeks to curtail civil rights. We do not support the hateful rhetoric of our administration. We also acknowledge that to preserve and protect the rights of ALL Americans there will inevitably be clashes and often violent confrontations.

I am warning that we have reached a tipping point. We are on the brink of civil war. If you go on the streets to protest, be prepared for the worse.

To me, and I am sure you disagree, liberals and progressives are fighting for the rights of those our administration seeks to silence, to disenfranchise.

I warn you as I warn others, we are in new territory. People’s lives are at stake — at the demonstrations and in daily life.
