Contemplating “stuff”

Hmm. I don't think you can over-highlight, Edis!

Thanks for your appreciative words and "over-highlighting" and for creating this special space for "things". We denigrate things, don't we? But, it's so unfair because our memories are wrapped up in things that we treasure, and this My Piece of Beach has been a very old treasure of mine.

This was so long ago that the sadness faded somewhere in the distant past. Writing this was surprisingly comforting. A wonderful memory of a boy who entered my life with a bang and left my life without a whimper. He was special and then he disappeared. Life is often like that.

Writing about him created a flood of fabulous memories. Thank you for that.

I am enchanted by a publication that centers on things. In our search for spirituality, we tend to discount the things that mean so much to us - thank you (not), Marie Kondo.

I don't advocate a dependency or obsession with possessions but also believe that we need to acknowledge and appreciate those items that are so wrapped and ribboned in our memories that we pack and move them no matter how many times we pack and move. Or, the items on the periphery of our lives - the things we may not own but appreciate.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
