Oh, Christine, what a heartwarming and heartbreaking story. I am so sorry about the terrible death of your sister and that you lost O'Driscoll so soon after.

O'Driscoll was so adorable - no wonder you fell in love with him! I had to chuckle about the sleeping in beds story. When we adopted our cat Tango, Ben said firmly, "No pets in the bedroom." The first night, Tango sat at our door meowing, so I put a comfy cat bed for him to the side of the door. But Ben has always gotten up to eat during the night because his blood glucose goes down, and he saw Tango there at the door looking so sad. The next night, I hurried to get in bed first, making Ben be the one to put Tango out of our bedroom and close the door. He couldn't do it. Since then, Tango has slept with us. Now, Syau does, too. And, once in a blue moon, Sébastien does, too, but only for 20 or 30 minutes. He's more of a loner.

Did you pup come with the name O'Driscoll or did you name him? Very unusual name. I wonder where it originated.
