Oh, I agree completely! Our systems sucks and we should work toward changing it, but in such an important election year as this one, now is not the time. Nothing will change before the election anyway. Protesting with a vote will, most likely, give the election to Trump.

The answer is to work for changing the system in the years leading up to the next election. We definitely need a least one more strong party. I don’t know how to make that happen but will support anyone who does.

I was a Bernie supporter. I believe in radical change. But, now, unfortunately, is not the time. I wish it were. In many ways, I think radical change is needed more in this pandemic year than ever. We don’t have enough time to do that between now and November. Starting a viable third party (and none of the ones we have now are viable) should have been the focus the day after Trump was elected. Rather than working to unseat him while in office, which most knew was impossible, those efforts should have been poured into creating an alternative party that would have been ready to hit the ground running this year.

We need enthusiastic, dedicated political activists to start working on forming a third party NOW for the election four years from now. It will take that long for people to even consider the idea. It will take that long to build a base strong enough to present a possible candidate.
