Oh, Kim, it is such a frustrating and confusing process, but the miscommunication about fasting is inexcusable.

Fingers crossed that Dave doesn't have cancer. That you have to wait for more tests is frustrating and worrisome. I am so sorry both of you are going through all of this. It seems so unfair for young people to have organs that are failing.

I just picked up Ben from the dialysis center, and he was unusually subdued. He said that toward the end of his session, the nurses prepared the bed next to his. A young girl he was sure couldn't even be 20 came in. It made him sad to see someone so young having dialysis. Most of the patients at the clinic are elderly and the majority come from nursing homes. Other than one visiting patient, I've only seen a couple of patients who I'd estimate are less than 70.

When you have a chance, please update us. Ben and I are holding both of you close to our hearts.
