One of my recent Fuck-its was couponing. No, I was never an obsessive coupon collector who treats it as an second job, but I did my weekly duty of cutting out the Sunday and Thursday newspaper coupons, clipping the ones from magazines and watching the local sales. Sometimes I even filed my coupons in one of those little organizers. Then 90% of the time I forgot to use the little paper money substitutes or didn’t have them with me when I needed them and I felt guilty. So damn guilty. Those little rectangular slips of paper could rack up a huge amount of kick-myself-in-the-ass guilt. Then, one day I realized I hated cutting out coupons, worrying about coupons, feeling guilty about coupons. What would they save me weekly — $2 to $5 max. I can make that working an extra few minutes at my business. And, I would enjoy that. Fuck coupons!!

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
