Our fall season in Florida is too hot for the larger cucurbits, such as pumpkins. They rot before they ripen. We ship in tons of pumpkins this time of year. Mostly for Halloween decorations. Same is true with those, though. If you prepare your jack-o-lantern too early in October, it will be mush by Halloween.
