Our society is built on lies - from advertising to social media to our need to glorify ourselves. I grew up in a household of blame, Spirit. There were no accidents. Every childhood blunder was treated as a willful disobedient action. And, punished as such. I learned to lie to protect myself from punishment I didn't deserve. But, once the habit of lying was established, it was hard to shed in adulthood. Like you, I was an expert liar.
As I dealt with issues from my childhood and particularly with my father, I wanted to erase the negativity that weighted my life, and a big part of that was the lying that came too easily. Took a lot of work.
Finally finding a partner who loved all aspects of me helped. Now, I strive to live in truth. And, I have fewer friends because of that. And, that's okay.
