Out-of-control controller burns are a problem here, too, Christine.

The National Trust was carrying out a controlled burn and a fire got out of control, destroying nine hectares of heathland. This is disastrous as so much wildlife will have been hibernating. It destroys nesting sites, insects, reptiles, and other food for birds and raptors in particular. Six fire service crews were needed.
