P. S. I Love You just published one dog photo with a poem but I will post both on Snapshots with other road trip pictures.

Thanks for being concerned. I would never go the places we went alone or with anyone but Anita. She grew up on a farm in Ocala south of here. She knows the lingo and has the ability to communicate with these types of rural people who are suspicious and trigger-happy. But, even she would not travel those roads without her big dogs. Plus, she has a feel for unsafe places. More than once, we started down a road and she turned around because she had a bad feeling.

Once we stopped at an abandoned home on a well-traveled paved road. I got out of the car and walked just close enough to grab a shot but immediately turned around and got back in the car. Hair on my arms was standing up. I did not want anything to do with that place. It emanated evil. I felt that something horrible happened there. Couldn’t get away fast enough!

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
