Pockett, living in a state that is so hateful to LGBTQ+ people has been extremely difficult for me. Fortunately, my city leans more left than right. Still, I am so ashamed of my state.

I have small rainbow flags planted throughout my garden and Human Rights stickers in my front windows, as well as a political sign that states what my household believes. If you enter our townhome circle, you will know who and what I support.

It's important that we show our allegiances openly. It's important that we not be shy or ashamed or worried about what others will think.
