Shaunta, I love your wall of art and particularly the fact that it is an entire wall of art from unknown, or barely known, artists. Two of my favorite possessions were discovered at a small estate sale — one is a photograph of a lighthouse at night with a full moon shining above and the other is a metal plate stamped and painted to look like a smiling sun. The nighttime lighthouse hangs next to our bed; it’s one of the last things I see before falling asleep. The sun hangs on the wall beyond the foot of our bed; it’s one of the first things I see each morning.
As Liz Gilbert says in her book Big Magic, humans were created to create. It is in our DNA. Whether our art is for ourselves or our families or the world, we are all artists of some sort who must create.
