So, Christina, I now know you once lived in Arizona and now live someplace very cold but I’m not sure where that place is. I shudder at both. But, that’s what makes us and our lives interesting, right? Someone will always appreciate what I don’t and vice versa.

The garden photo is gorgeous but, dang, I really love that whiptail lizard! I am a lizard fan and haven’t heard of that one. On my tenth birthday, my father gave me an iguana and I adored him.

I can imagine how much you miss the desert. It seems from your beautifully descriptive poem that your heart is truly there.

I moved to Florida in 1973 and felt that I was finally, truly home — the place I belonged. Then, in 1976, a marriage took me north to Atlanta, a place I torturously endured for 5 years, rushing back to Florida/home as soon as possible. I feel you are in a similar situation — living one place and longing for another.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
