So, Erik, was I to get the flu each Thanksgiving? That would take intense planning and a great deal of luck — hmm, luck doesn’t seem to be the appropriate word here, but you get what I mean. Or, was I to lie and say I had the flu? Considering, the Thanksgiving attendees were family, I’d be hard-pressed to hide my health and well-being 😄

What I should have done is gather the gumption to say NO!
