So happy Lelos is better!
You lived in Dubai for how long? My neighbor told English is the UAE for three years. Where are you now?
The guinea pigs, of course, live in cages. Quite large ones. Each has his own because they are males and tend to fight. Cages are end-to-end, allowing them to visit without fear of a raucous.
However, every evening, we take each out separately. While my husband cleans the unoccupied cage, I have the piggy with me on the sofa, feeding him veggies and fruit and allowing him to scamper about. Our cats, particularly Sébastien, often visit. Both are fascinated with the piggies but have not tried to hurt them in any way. Sébastien gets very close, often going nose-to-nose, with one and he likes to steal their veggies!
Two of our dogs, the Peke and the Lhasa Apso, pay no attention to the piggies, but the Lhasa Poo is obsessed with them. Everytime we interact with the guinea pigs in anyway, she gets excited and dances in circles. However, she once lunged at one so I don’t trust her at all. While I have each guinea pig on the sofa, she sits on the floor with her nose at the edge of the sofa cushion, staring intently. She knows better than to try to get any closer!
I never leave a piggy when I have one out. Even though the cats have always been gentle and sweet to them, they are hunters and guinea pigs are prey animals. I don’t tempt nature. I am always there and always diligent.
