Although Wikipedia says that its origin in North America may be from Northern New England, and I have lived in Northern New England, I still don’t know about the thrice-repeated rabbit superstition. Now I do and fear I will feel compelled to yell rabbit, rabbit, rabbit on the first morning of each month. Thanks a lot 😜
However, I totally get the curling up together part of your delightful poem. This morning, Captain Argentina awoke with low blood sugar before time to rise and got out of bed to nibble something sweet. Still feeling poorly, he returned to bed and cuddled up very close to me. When I awoke, he said being close to me made him feel better immediately. I would call that a lucky start to February, would you?
