So, our fathers were alike in this, but finally something that you and I don't share - well, not much. My father was a builder and loved the latest household conveniences. Before I was born, he purchased the first TV in our neighborhood. Later, we had the first stereo and it was a "floater", invisibly attached to our living room wall - my friends were in awe of that. We had one of the first color TVs in our town and a mixer/food processor/meat grinder that was embedded in our kitchen counter, popping up with the push of a button. We had a dishwasher before anyone else. And, of course, Dad always had a unique car that caused a stir when he drove into town.
Me, well, I like some technology but feel so many gadgets just complicate life and I never can figure them out. Thank goodness for my friend Gina who installs/instructs/maintains/repairs almost everything I own that is mechanical/electronic. I like the results of technology after someone else sets it up and teaches me how to use it!
