So true, Remington. Every snow is a reason for panic now. Of course, I'm sitting in drenched Florida, but I do remember my days in the far north. My school in Maine NEVER closed for a snow day, even when we had 5 feet one night. Everyone just got up early and started shoveling. If the buses were canceled to avoid possible lawsuits over possible accidents, parents still had to get their kids to school.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
