Stefani, you must be in Florida like me but further north. We were at 35 degrees when I got up at 6:45 this morning. Tonight is supposed to be 31.

Your tree may be fine. It's not the low temperature as much as HOW LONG the temp is that low. Orange trees can often survive in the 20s if the freeze doesn't last all night. The fruit wouldn't make it though so it's good you picked it.

I have a lot of succulents in my garden that I rushed to cover last night. And, I recently planted a few new flowering bushes that concerned me since they are new plantings. Covered those and our avocado tree, too. No avocados yet. Started the tree from a seed and it takes 5 to 13 years for seed-started avocados to bear fruit. Still, it's a good looking tree!

Did you have damage from yesterday morning's storm? We didn't but a neighborhood less than 1/4 mile away had either a tornado or a straight-line wind that did a lot of damage.
