Such a sweet poetic story, Louise. I blinked away tears at the ending.

It reminds me of a house I sometimes pass on my morning walks. You can tell that someone living there once tended the yard and garden with great care - so many beautiful plants that are now hidden in weeds, vines, and grass. The only person I see at that house appears to be a caregiver or visiting nurse who shows up periodically, maybe more often, when I don't happen to be passing by. I wonder who lives there. I wonder who planted the flowers and once tended the garden.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
