After the day I wore pants, other girls followed me. Interesting to note, it was the African-American girls who first stepped out in pants. Two, the five, then 10. Later, other white girls did. Within two weeks, girls wearing pants was no longer an issue or even the topic of conversation. The school survived.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
