Thank you so much for this, Marcus. I certainly understand the hope and disappointment. In my case, acceptance is not medically recommended since reflux can lead to esophageal cancer. Otherwise, I could transition into the acceptance stage.

I've had back problems most of my life due to a horseback riding incident as a child. I didn't receive medical care, and didn't know until I was an adult, that I had broken bones. I learned to accept the almost constant pain, but that pain won't lead to cancer, will it?

In a comment, you mentioned your eczema, and I shared that I have it, too, on the soles of my feet. I spent two years walking on feet that looked like raw hamburger. Steroids, that I had to beg for after those two years, healed my eczema. I 'm sorry they didn't do the same for you. I have nerve damage from the eczema and I still get small flare-ups from time to time, but recognize them immediately and slather my feet with creams. So far, that's worked.

I wish you could find something that provides lasting relief for your eczema. I know how distressing is.

Marcus, I greatly appreciate your willingness to share your story. It's difficult to be open about our ailments, but I think it is important because it tells others that they are not alone with their health issues. By telling our stories, we give strength to others. Thank you.
