The whistling ducks are far from tame but usually tolerant of us. But, they are a flighty bunch. Doesn’t take much for them to scatter by air or water. There is one teenager in our area who tamed one though. He walks around with the duck on his shoulder and sometimes takes him to the pool. Shhh, that’s against the rules!
The Muscovies are friendlier, less raucous, and tamer. Because Ben is usually the one feeding the ducks every day, they are accustomed to him and eat within a foot or so of where he stands.
