Thanks for the compliments, Annie! The gator was very young, so not too worrisome. Plus, I was on a boardwalk well above the marshy area so the gator was no threat at all. I did use a zoom but he wasn’t far away — may two or three yards.
The size of these two gators made them more of a concern. I was walking on a pier when I saw the first one. The second was spotted from a nature boat tour that goes into the Dora Canal, a protected area where large gators are common.
And, yes, the ocean is immense! The Atlantic covers 20 percent of the earth’s surface. Here are a couple more ocean shots. The first is at sunrise and the second is waves on the beach.
