Thanks for the encouragement, Sherry. The cabinets are not solid wood; they are pressboard, and humidity is causing them to separate. They really need to be replaced.

After our house was re-piped last year, I had to hire a contractor to repair holes in the floor and walls. I called 8 different ones. All were scheduling 5 to 6 months out. One of my clients spoke to the contractor who was doing work for her. He was scheduling 8 months out, but squeezed me in to please her. Still, I waited 2 months for him to do the work.

Having to renovate the kitchen piecemeal is too much to even consider at this point. Neither Ben nor I have the knowledge necessary; that's why I wanted to hire a reno company. I will probably call the contractor who repaired the holes and see if he can help or recommend someone.

With Ben's dialysis and with our health problems, I needed the kitchen renovation to be an experience with as little stress as possible. That's obviously not possible. I have to weigh our health situations with the aggravation.
