Thanks, Susan. Through friends of the family I have learned that Hospice was called so I expect the end is near. I sent a short text to him today and received a very simple Thanks as his reply. I plan to step back for now. He needs to concentrate on his children and grandchildren as they go through this heartbreaking experience. I appreciate and am surprised that he took the time to text me last night. He knows how to reach me when he needs to.

I felt compelled to write about this. I knew I’d never sleep last night if I didn’t.
