The treasure of the moment — I’ve been thinking about that as we eye the storm, Joe. One moment is all we have and all it takes to demolition what we have.

Actually, I started thinking about the idea of this moment in time when Jk Mansi commented on one or the other of my poems about how I miss my grandchildren so much. She very kindly said it won’t be forever. The sentiment is wonderful but doesn’t help when all we truly have is this moment. To say something isn’t forever is genuinely false on an individual level. It is forever in the treasure of the moment for me. It is forever because I don’t know if I’ll have more than this moment.

This moment is forever.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
