Theewari, before living in Florida, I lived up north. I don't miss the snow at all. I especially dreaded the northern springs when the snow melted and turned streets into rivers. Rotten vegetation, released from its winter prison, smelled horrible. Snow that remained on the ground was dirty. I much prefer my warm Southern home!
My daughter and grandchildren moved north three years ago and were so excited to see their first snowfall. They still play in the snow but not like they did that first year. They've already grown weary of the cold and the wet that lasts for so long.
I will say that your area has some lovely winter traditions, though.
