These trees are somewhat common in Florida, Ella. They like our moist soil but can also withstand our occasional droughts. They grow up the U.S. East Coast all the way to Maine, but the tree does struggle in the colder climates.

How nice that you found a secret garden. Sometimes the least-known gardens are the best.
