This was such a fun read, Quasimodo! I wasn’t a fan of the first Star Trek though my best friend was, forcing me to watch a few episodes. I became a fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation in the 80s and saw the first two or three movies. Like you, I marveled at the unscientificness (Is this a word?) of it all, but being more a storyteller than a scientist — way more, as a matter of fact — I didn’t care. After the first couple of movies, the franchise seemed to fade for me. I miss Picard.

And, this is all out of character for me. I am not a science fiction fan!
