We don’t have snow, Joseph, but it’s been a very uncharacteristically gray winter here. Sunshine has disappeared from The Sunshine State — at least my region of it. The sky too often reminds me of the Mid-Atlantic in the winter. And, while you’ve had snow, we’ve had rain — lots of rain, which I normally don’t mind. But rather than our afternoon summer storms that dump a lot of liquid sunshine in an hour or less, these rains last all day and night, on and off, on and off.

And, we’ve had freezing temperatures more times this year than we normally experience. I think it’s been an unusual winter everywhere. Gee, look at poor Texas! I see the snow and extreme temperatures there and feel I have no right to complain!

A neighbor and I were talking this morning about how we are typically eager at this time of year to get outside and start our gardening, but the gloomy skies zap our energy and interest.

Still, I don’t blame you for wanting to escape the snow! I hope I never see snow again.
