What a fun read and impressive list of bird songs, Laura! I wonder how many readers here can identify the songs of six birds.

Carolina Wrens may top my list just because they are so small and have such BIG sounds. Gotta give those little guys a lot of credit for effort.

Cardinals are one of the most common birds here, and I love their song, too.

Oddly, I love the loud cackling sound of the Pileated Woodpecker. Not what I would call pretty, but definitely a call that grabs your attention.

I'm also fond of the vocals of every sort of Warbler. Such sweet tweety songs. I feel the same about all Sparrows.

Lastly, I must mention Crows. Their cawing isn't really a song, is it? But they are such great communicators that I have to admire their vocal skills.
