What a nice set of utensils, Louise. I know exactly what you mean about the old ones being better. I have a set of metal measuring cups that were always in my childhood home. When my father passed, I found them in his kitchen and brought them home. Unfortunately, the set of four - 1 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, and 1/4 cup - is missing the 1/3 cup, and all the cups are dented. When I started baking seriously, I knew I needed to get a new set but disliked all the ones I bought. Fortunately, Amazon takes returns! I finally set on a set, but they are plastic - I prefer my metal ones. Because the old ones are dented, I dare not trust the measurements, but I use them as scoops.

I prefer the feel of metal and wood to plastic, but almost everything for the kitchen is plastic these days.
