What a story, Robert! I think it's ridiculous that the retailer forced you to return tee-shirts you didn't order. My goodness, that was a lot of work for you. Wrong, simply, wrong. I hope all is straightened out now.

I work for a real estate law firm that had a conterfeit check that went through its trust account. You wouldn't believe the amount of work I, as the bookkeeper, had to go through because of that crime. We filed a police report; a bored detective called and recorded the particulars of the crime and told us they would do nothing to identify or apprehnd the culprit because it happens all the time! Don't you think the frequency of the crime would make it all the more necessary to investigage? That was in in 2020. I happened again this summer and, again, the police did nothing.
