What magnificent photos, Anne! I'm struggling to choose a favorite. Like you, the yellow birds delight me. Interestingly, we don't have many - or maybe, not any - yellow birds in my area. Try as I may, I can't think of one! So, I particularly enjoy these. Your lead bird is also fantastic - that and the yellow weaver may be my favorites. But, the shy bird is also a contender!

Of course, herons, particularly great blues, are my very favorites. I read that they live in every corner of the world. We have a couple of grays and tri-colors in our neighborhood, as well as a couple of great blues.

So, I am about to write something very stupid. Thinking of the desert, I don't think of any birds other than vultures! Intellectually, I would be certain there are others, but my only mental image of a bird in the desert is a vulture. Thank you for giving me plenty of new desert bird images to replace the vultures!
