Wow! Brett, I love old buildings and, like you, wonder the secrets they hold. In November, I went on a photography road trip with a friend, specifically looking for old or unusual buildings. Off a two-lane highway in a rural area near a prison, we found a small dilapidated house, fenced off with No Trespassing signs in prominent view. We pulled to the side of the road and I got out to take a few shots without venturing onto the actual property. As I walk along the roadside ditch, getting closer to the house, looking for a good angle to take a photo, the hair on my arm stood up and I felt anxious. As I slowly continued, fear gripped my heart. All I wanted to do was run. Something sinister happened in that house. Evil still lurked in the air. I turned around and walked back to the car without a single picture. Sometimes it’s better not to know the story buildings could tell.
