Yes, finding contentment in the company of the one with whom we chose to live life is amazing. Had I experienced a pandemic during my previous marriage, I would have been in big trouble! With Ben, it ain’t too bad ;)

I do believe you have a tri-colored heron there — although the three colors are not always obvious on them — lavender, blue-gray, and white. They are small (compared to great blues and other herons), slender and quite shy. And, they are up and down the east coast so could definitely be hanging out in a PA stream.

Don’t feel bad about the image — they aren’t easy to photograph. Here is a shot I got of one in Mount Dora. I was up on a boardwalk that goes around Lake Dora and I stood almost motionless for several minutes waiting for him to come close enough to get a decent picture. And, even then, it’s only a so-so photo. They like to hide in the reeds around lakes and along streams and rivers. Very easy to overlook them. Which, of course, is what they want!
