I enjoy the rain. Even when I am caught out in it as I was yesterday when I left our home in sunshine and arrived at the grocery — about 2 miles away — in the midst of a monsoon-like rain! The parking lot was flooded — places had rain 5 inches high. Lightning and thunder overhead. But, I only had a limited amount of time to shop, so I pulled out an umbrella, shocked that I had one in the car, and splashed through the flooded parking lot to the store. My shoes were squishing out rainwater as I walked into the store. The lightning took out the power but the store has a gigantic generator and other than there being fewer lights than normal, I and everyone else was able to our shopping and check-out with no inconvenience. By the time I left, the rain had slowed but was still steady. I pushed my shopping cart through the deep puddles and loaded the groceries in my car. A typical summer day in Florida!
