You eloquently and thoughtfully described the healthy process of letting go, Crystal. I was raised in a time when marriage/relationships were forever, and this continues to be true for many, particularly those who consider themselves to be religious. Admitting my marriage was over and the love was gone was extremely difficult even for this feminist. I not only lost my husband of 20+ years but his family who’d been closer to me than my own kin. No easy but all for the best. My life changed drastically but in happy ways.
I am pleased you moved on, letting the past occupy its own place in history. Thanks for sharing your story.
