The woman who previously owned our home left her step-ladder for us. It lived in a storage room off our back porch. One day, my husband took the ladder out to change a high lightbulb. As he was returning it to the storage room, the phone rang so he open it up and left it on the porch - for a moment or so he thought. When he returned, our cat Sébastien was stretched out on the little platform step. That was three years ago. The ladder is still there and is Sébastien's favorite perch.
