You nailed it, Gail — perfect description of Medium, or Medium University, as you so aptly named our mutually-loved forum.

As you know, I bought a new physical home this year and have spent the last few months adjusting to a lovely new environment and meeting neighbors who are rapidly becoming friends.

But, this new home experience also applies to Medium, which is now my creative and spiritual home, as much a place of comfort and belonging as my home of wood and stucco.

Like you, I moved into my Medium home about a year ago. The first couple of months was spent exploring the neighborhood and meeting new friends before becoming an active resident.

On this Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my two new homes, my physical one and my creative and spiritual one. And, for my new friends in both places.

Thank you, Gail Boenning, for reminding us that our gratitude this Thanksgiving should include our virtual home here on Medium.

I’d also like to thank Ev Williams and the Medium Staff for constructing our virtual home and providing us with a place to play, explore, create, and connect.

Happy Thanksgiving, Medium community!

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
