You were lucky. In fact, Florida in general was lucky with that storm. Could have been so much worse. I live far enough north in the state that downed trees and power lines were the biggest problem. We went 36 hours without power. Lots of limbs down all around. I live on a lake that came up to the rim but didn’t overflow, but many on the rivers here experienced flooding.
I was, and still am, so angry at how overwhelmed Puerto Rico was, and is still, treated. Outrageous that American citizens were blatantly and cruelly ignored in their time of need.
Michael was another whallop to the Panhandle. People there are still in dire need there.
These storms will become more frequent and more monsterous, but our government ignores the desperate need for research and action. Such a frightening future ahead.
